Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
Higher toned - a more vertical nose. This is more open and openly complex, great finishing too, but by comparison a little more serious/austere after the Charmes.
Sarah Marsh MW "The Burgundy Briefing"
A level up. This has the structure and intensity and presence. Super succulent. Very scented finish. 2025-2038.
Wine Advocate - Neal Martin
The 2018 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has a very detailed bouquet of black cherries, raspberry preserve, orange blossom and sous-bois aromas, gaining intensity with aeration in the glass. The medium-bodied palate features supple, pliant tannins that marry nicely with succulent red fruit laced with clove and bay leaf. This builds in the mouth to a very composed, long finish. Superb.
