Consistent with the majority of this blend coming from Chapelot, the 2010 Montée de Tonnerre is more a wine of finesse and refinement than power. A reticent, pure and elegant nose features primarily dried floral aromas that exude subtle notes of algae and iodine that precede the detailed and almost aggressively mineral-inflected flavors that finish with mild austerity and pronounced dryness in the best sense of the term. I very much like the energy and spherical sense of harmony.
