Deep red purple, there is a sweet juicy aspect to the fruit which is very lovable. This is beautifully balanced and will give a great deal of pleasure in the medium term. Beautifully ripe but not exaggerated. Long finish. I think this represents quite a step up from the regular Chorey in 2018.

The 2018 Chorey-lès-Beaune Pièce du Chapitre is a two-hectare monopole of 60-year-old vines that the domaine inherited in 2001. This cuvée is only sold in Europe. It offers blackberry and briar on the elegant and quite understated nose. The palate is nicely structured with pretty blue fruit toward the finish. Approachable and quite delicious.
