Bill Nanson "The Burgundy Report"
The monopoly of this 0.24 hectare 1er cru section of the Grand Champs vineyard - many others have Grands Champs - but their’s is villages.
Here’s an attractive nose - this from tank like the Robardelle - perfumed and pure. Fuller more structural wine but still with a very attractive and very mouth-watering style to the fruit. That’s lovely - very lovely!

Volnay Les Grands Champs is a 0.24-hectare monopole located in Volnay Les Mitans. This wine is vivid and florally perfumed, and is delicate and detailed, with generous hedonistic depth. It’s perfectly balanced, with an airy feel.

The 2020 Volnay Les Grands Champs 1er Cru is the Domaine’s 0.24-hectare monopole located on a strip on the upper part of the lieu-dit, just below En l’Ormeau. This has an excellent nose: vibrant, cohesive, quite mineral driven with subtle florality. The palate is medium-bodied with saline-tinged red fruit, assiduously-judged acidity with a tensile finish. This is Bouley's he highlight this vintage. (Drink between 2026-2045)
