Clos de l’Orme lies in central Chambolle below the Premier Crus Les Charmes and Les Plantes with which it has quite a bit in common. Jasper Morris MW says it “might almost merit premier cru status”. Deeply coloured. A very aromatic nose with fresh lifted aromatic fruit. Cherries in particular. Medium weight and a classic Chambolle. Quite delicious.

30% whole bunch. 20-25% new oak. Cask sample.
Purplish cherry red. Not giving away much on the nose at first but opens up to red fruits in a rather savoury mode for the appellation. A gentle note of oak spice. On the palate, real depth of generous fruit and already-smooth tannins. More floral on the palate. Harmonious and accessible but should still age well, fresh on the finish.

Another well situated plot, lying just beneath Les Charmes and Les Plantes. Perfumed notes of morello cherry, dark plum, citrus oil, dried red fruits, and baking spice on the nose. The palate is wonderfully bright, with medium body, and concentrated fruit flavours that mirror the nose. Velvety tannins finish the medium length, marginally warming finish.
