Oh, this is good. Perfumed nose of spicy, juicy fruit. Vibrant and deep with red-black fruits - raspberry in particular - vanilla, spice galore, and some lightly toasted fresh oak. It is on the palate that this wine really struts its stuff. It is intense and textured but not heavy. The ripeness and weight are perfect, the flavours pure and defined. Seriously great drinking at this level.

Brilliant purple, the nose at first showed some varnished oak but that blew off, leaving tight lean, deep redcurrant and raspberry. There is a little extra weight here but not quite the same purity of fruit and balance. Not singing today.
