There’s always great colour in Chauvenet’s wines. Deep nose of spiced plum, ground exotic spices, a touch of fresh earth, anise and creme patissiere. In the mouth the wine is full with a creamy texture (old vines), layered flavours, good acidity and a long, minerally finish. Excellent cut. The tannins, as is so typical of 2019, are present but well coated by the fruit. Supple, stylish and delicious.

Rich purple in colour, Les Damodes offers a super-stylish nose, with some refinement albeit in the powerful register of the vintage. It is quite delicious with lovely suave red and black fruit, very long. A happy wine!
