From low trained vines in Villars, Magny and Meuilley. Lovely clear dark purple. There is a burst of energetic fruit on the nose. Raspberry with a touch of blackcurrant, crisp acidity, much more open than the Bourgogne because of an earlier malolactic. Long fine finish. 13.5% alcohol

The 2020 Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge had been received some SO2 a month earlier. Luscious red cherry and redcurrant scents on the nose here, with a touch of kirsch. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red fruit
