Very deep red-purple. You know from the nose this is something special. Intense creamy fruit, some new oak (?). Serious. On the palate this is textured and rich with dark fruits. Old vines here? This has real power and length with some obvious tannin structure rising on the finish. Built to age. If you told me Villages/Premier Cru Gevrey I would not have been surprised. This is very good.

Aromas of cassis, cherries and dark chocolate preface the 2018 Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge, a medium to full-bodied, layered and succulent wine that's lively and nicely concentrated, structured around powdery tannins. This, too, has turned out well.
