Darren Harris
Deeply coloured. Intense note with dark fruits, minerals and lovely aromatic lift. Plums, currants, a whisper of liquorice. The palate has the concentration promised by the nose - ripe fruit balanced by minerally acidity and refined tannins that are well coated. The fruit flavours are pure and deep and the mid palate has a silky texture. There is a brooding sense of power you expect from a Grand Cru. In top years Corton can be an outstanding performer and Gilbert’s style works extremely well making a complex and long-lived wine in 2019.
