This has very good density of colour and notably more fruit, just a touch darker than the regular Malconsorts, with increased nobility, all of which is consistent with other vintages. The very dense primary fruit bounces through to the end in vibrant style, lifted by the whole bunch vinification. This will be an excellent wine - once again. Tasted: November 2018.
James Suckling Tasting Report
This has a very deep-set, dark-cherry core on the nose with cocoa powder and a very rich cast of tannins that carry long, sweet and exceptionally fresh. Bathed in flavor, this is super long and powerful with a deep-set resolve that really makes for a thrilling wine with deep, sweet red and dark-fruit impact. Smooth, deep, velvety tannins give a very, very long finish. 100 per cent whole cluster, from a parcel that touches La Tâche on two sides. Try from 2023.

Considerably denser and more concentrated than the regular de Montille Malconsorts in 2017, this comes from a 0.5ha parcel of older vines. It's a very spicy, serious red with evident whole-cluster fermentation, a hint of green malt
