70% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 10% Mourvedre. Vine age over 40 years. The Rasteau "Pas du Meunier" is located on the high point of the appellation. Its stony clay and saffron-coloured soils produce fine and powerful wines with aromas of wild blackberry, liquorice and cocoa when aired. The nose is very open and immediately offers a nice complexity. Upon opening, the fruity aromas dominate, reminiscent of wild blackberries, candied cherries and crushed strawberries. Then, with aeration, complexity is expressed and sweet spices take over, combining scents of garrigue, black olives and cocoa bean. This wine presents a beautiful duality between the fond, almost docile spirit, then the strength and full-bodied character that follow with aeration. The taste sensations extend this idea. The palate is full and generous. The tannins are present but do not dominate the whole, they do not weigh down the wine. The sensation of sweetness, typical of this appellation, is easily perceptible. However, the balance is perfect between freshness, alcohol and structure. The aromas perceived on the nose are found again in the mouth and give harmony.
