Bettane and Desseauve
Darren Harris
From a 0.35 hectare parcel of very old vines in the extreme north east corner the climat of En Orveaux - alongside the Clos de Vougeot. Red and not particularly deeply coloured (Chambolle-like?). A very elegant nose combining aromatic fruit with spice, mineral and a little animale. This wine says style more than stuffing. It is persistent, fine, almost feminine, yet still retaining its terroir and intensity. The old vines add texture to what is a gorgeous style of Burgundy that has its roots in the wines of yesteryear. Delightful!

Light Red. Very elegant, mature nose showing ultra ripe red fruit notes, a subtle smoky tone and mineral touch. Excellent grip on the palate. A robust wine, still fairly youthful with lots of fullness and persistent fruitiness.
