Vinous Media - Neal MArtin
The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Village, which matures in 40% new oak, has a lovely red cherry and wild strawberry bouquet that feels delicate and pure. The palate is very well balanced with a fine acidity, lightly spiced with a dash of white pepper towards the finish. It has a directness that is pleasing, a no-frills but quite delicious Village Cru in the making. Excellent.
Wine Advocate - William Kelley
Offering up notes of cherries, sweet red berries, forest floor and truffles, the 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru is medium to full-bodied with an ample attack that segues into a taut mid-palate, framed by fine-grained tannins and concluding with a pure and attractively mineral finish. It's a blend of Craipillot and Perrières but Perrières always seems to dominate its personality.
