Clos des Chenes is both large in size and personality. It is regarded as one of Volnay's top premier crus producing a rich and powerful wine with a nose featuring violets, a signature of this vineyard. Concentrated and built to age.

Deep garnet. Enticing nose of crushed cherry, cherry stone, violets and warm stones. The palate displays perfectly ripe fruit that is fresh and vibrant with crisp acidity and a mineral intensity. There are some chalky tannins on the finish. Beautifully balanced, thought provoking, long and detailed -  this is Volnay at its best.
