Darren Harris
From a 0.9 hectare single plot “Les Chaillots” (pebbles in the local dialect). Vine age 50+ years.
Dark and intense. Very deep for this level. Looks serious! Smoky, earthy, cherries and plums. Sweet, intense, perfectly ripe 2019 fruit. Layered flavours with a long finish and well managed tannin adding structure. This does not look or taste like a relatively simple Cote de Nuits Villages. How far these “lesser” wines have come with global warming. This wine needs 5 years in the cellar.
