Fine lively fresh mid purple. 15% whole bunch. Waiting for the tidal wave of fruit, which doesn’t happen on the nose, rather more in the mouth, but with some strictness of structure too. The aftertaste shows more of the Amoureuses seduction.

The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru uses 15% whole bunch from the 25-year-old vines (the rest are 10 years old). It has a fragrant, elegant bouquet of blackberry, briar, sage and subtle oxtail aromas that gently unfold in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, very fine tannins, and here the Les Amoureuses character really shines. Veins of blue fruit and spices burst through on the finish. There is an appealing crescendo to this wine and it should age with style and panache. (Drink between 2024-2045).
