One of the little gems in the domaine portfolio is the Clos du Chateau vineyard. It is an impressive 8 hectare monopole that is located in front of the Chateau , over 1/3 of the vineyard is within the Meursault appellation (and could be labeled Meursault) but they choose to keep this plot whole so therefore it reverts to Bourgogne classification. The wine is vinified in 25% new oak and the balance in 2 and 3 year old barrels for 12 months on fine lees. The soil of the plot is clay/limestone & free draining.
