Vosne-Romanee Les Rouges is a very interesting vineyard. The lower section - Les Rouges du Bas is part of Echezeaux Grand Cru. Above that lies the Premier Cru Les Rouges (sometimes called Les Rouges du Dessus to distinguish it). To the north-west there is a tiny portion that is classified Villages.So the vineyard had all three levels from Villages to Grand Cru!
Bichot’s first vintage of the Premier Cru Les Rouges was 2015. Our first allocation was in 2018, the wine we feature today. The vineyard is high on the hill and the site is cool. Picking often takes place two weeks after Echezeaux just down the slope.
