Dense red purple. The nose is discreet, but the quality of the fruit is superb on the palate, quite vibrant while respecting the raw silk and blue fruit style of the appellation. Very good fruit acid balance. Excellent aftertaste both in fruit quality and persistence.

30% whole-bunch fermented. Aged in oak barrels (50% new) for 16 months. Cask sample. Heavy black-cherry fruit, fine tannic texture and great persistence. Punchy and fulsome with everything in proportion, and plenty of intensity. (RH) (Drink between 2021-2034)

A consistently outstanding cuvee here, with a perfectly judged 25% whole-bunch and 50% new oak (as for most of the grand crus here this year). A luminous mid-ruby. Great complexity and depth on the nose, a lovely light whiff of white pepper from the stems. Very graceful on the palate, despite the depth and intensity, at once mineral and succulent, a really sublime texture, more cashmere than silk, so densely but finely layered, thanks to abundant but beautifully managed tannins; perfectly seamless, thrillingly long. A brilliant rendition of this generally underrated cru.
